Porcelain veneers
Small additions for major improvement
Porcelain veneers are indirect, laboratory-made facings for your teeth. They are usually very thin and are used to enhance the appearance of a misshapen tooth, close a gap between two teeth or hide a stubborn internal stain.
Porcelain veneers can give your smile an amazing improvement, and can last over 10 years, but only when maintained properly with regular preventative care. They do involve reducing some of your natural tooth and are irreversible.
At The Dentist, we work closely with Australia’s best ceramicists, who take pride in producing beautiful, natural-looking veneers, crowns and bridges for our patients. They personally see every patient who requires cosmetic treatment and make every effort to understand what patients expect from their veneers.
Everybody and every tooth is different we need to asses you and go over
the risks and limitations of all the options available to you. Once you
understand your options you will be able to make the right choice for you. If
you have questions let us know as the more you know the more control you will
have over what you want to do. We encourage all our patients to seek a
specialist opinion – we work alongside some of Sydney’s most lovely and caring
specialists.
Composite resin veneers vs porcelain veneers
At The Dentist, when we want to avoid reducing your natural tooth structure, we may suggest direct, composite resin veneers. These can be placed by our dentists in one visit and can be non-invasive.
The appearance of composite resin veneers can often match that of porcelain veneers; however, their lifespan doesn’t. They last around 5 to 7 years when maintained properly.
