Whether you are a Valentine’s Day fan or not, we hope you will find our Valentine’s Day Post interesting! The day of love means lots of kisses, kisses are produced by mouths and we know mouths! So we are giving you our top 10 list of things you may not know about kissing! Some of these will encourage you to go out and pucker up, others may make you want to visit us and make sure you are “kissing-fit”! Enjoy X

Our Top 10 Kissing Facts

1. Kissing is good for teeth. The anticipation of a kiss increases the flow of saliva to the mouth, giving the teeth and gums an antibacterial "shower" 2. An act of kissing puts 29 facial muscles in motion, so kissing may be able to prevent the development of wrinkles 3. Kissing can help women relax and ease the effects of stress (apparently, this does not work as well for men) 4. A kiss that lasts one minute can relieve your body of 26 calories 5. Every other person on the planet has his first amorous kiss before reaching the age of 14 6. On the average, a person spends 20,160 minutes (two weeks) of his life on kissing 7. Lovers swap saliva containing various substances e.g. fats, mineral salts, proteins while kissing. According to some studies, the exchange of the above substances can give a boost to your immunity 8. The mouth is full of bacteria. When two people kiss, they exchange between 10 million and 1 billion bacteria (don't panic, they are not all bad bacteria) 9. Diseases which can be transmitted through kissing include mononucleosis (“kissing disease”) and herpes. Contraction of HIV through kissing is extremely unlikely, though one woman was infected in 1997 when the woman and infected man both had gum disease and bleeding gums! 10. “X”s at the end of a correspondence letter represent the contact of the lips during a kiss
